I bought this filter a couple months back for my coffee machine and love it. I wanted to test it out before leaving an honest review. I really wish I had invested in one of these permanent filters years ago. The coffee always tastes great, and clean up afterwards is quick and easy. I wash it by hand most days (which is very easy to do) and wash it in the dishwasher about once every two weeks, and it's still in great condition. I used to use permanent filters that I found at the local grocer. They cost a couple of bucks, and seemed to work fine, but I never experienced the "awesome coffee" that permanent filters were supposed to help brew. Well, it all comes down to the materials. The gold tone mesh is very fine, and what surprised me most was that it doesn't retain the stale odor of coffee grounds that the other, less expensive filters I bought, did - even when I put them in the dishwasher. With this filter, all I have to do is rinse it out - even if I've been too lazy to empty the filter after brewing a pot of coffee. I do, however, use a tiny bit of mild soap and a soft brush (it's a brush designed to clean wine glasses, actually, and is very handy with this) and whenever I run the dishwasher, I put the filter in on the top rack. I purchased this in a local store for a few bucks. I use it with my Mr. Coffee FTTX95 10-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker, Black/Stainless which also comes with a water filter.
